The article has been written In order to inform readers about the fact that many areas in the UK designated as ‘beauty spots’ will be affected in visual appearance by wind turbines which may be built in order to provide the nation with electricity.these turbines will also affect local nature and may kill birds in the region.
The article is clearly biased and opposed to the construction of these wind farms. We can clearly see this as the author has not mentioned the positive impact these wind turbines will have on the country.
From the article we can learn that there are many people opposed to the construction of wind turbines. Many groups such as the friends of the earth and natural England are said to be opposed to the construction of these.
We are also told that the government has a step by step method to identify where these turbines will be placed in the country. This also goes to show that the government carefully decides how and where to place these windfarms. However this has not been shown as the government has chosen many unnecessary locations to lave these windfarms.
We are also told that climate change is the number one problem faced by Britain at he moment and small issues such as changes in the view or small affects to nature. We are basically told that if we hadn’t put ourselves in this position we would not ave to take such desperate measures now.

The strength of this response is the high quality of your evaluation of the information. Your ability to identify bias and explore where it exists is the best I’ve seen.
What you also need to do is explore the detail of the arguments. While you don’t necessarily have to make direct quotations from the text in the comprehension question, you do have to make much more specific reference to the facts stated and the people and organisations referenced.
Currently you have an exploration of the bias of the article and it’s ideas and inferences, but very little reference to detail. This is a typical trap for a highly able student – which makes doing these practices really worthwhile
I’ll upload the marking scheme to that question to your blog so you can see what the examiner is asked to look for. Your grade would have probably been in the zone of 5 out of 8, which would recognise your understanding, but you would need to offer detail to get the full 8.
Let me know if the marking schedule isn’t any help and I’ll go through it with you.
(I’m so relieved to see you starting to put some time into your English again – just when it’s needed, thank goodness)
